Back in 2011, I took a course on Digital Insights and Analytics in which we were required to start a blog about a topic of our choosing. The point was to gain personal experience with content creation and analytics–our own personal playground. I had recently read Neil Postman’s Amusing Ourselves to Death and couldn’t seem to get some of Postman’s logic out of my head. I chased it with Nicholas Carr’s The Shallows: What the Internet is Doing to our Brains, and I was hooked on the world of media ecology.
Over the last few years, I’ve maintained the blog as a side interest (with a couple of lulls in activity…) with posts on anything related to media that strikes my fancy. I’ve also started reviewing books chapter by chapter, mixing summary with my thoughts.
Sometimes I make illustrations of quotes I like.
